This 4-day tour will let you to gorillas and chimpanzees trekking in Virunga National Park in Congo. However, this is a great chance to see both animals in one park. Virunga National Park is one of the few parks in the world where gorillas and chimpanzees live together and you can trek them. This tour includes everything you need. It will also start and end in Kigali and you will have airport transfers.
DAY 1: Pick up from Kigali to Bukima in Congo
You will start your tour early in the morning. The driver will pick you up from the hotel and tell you about the tour. He will also drive you from Kigali to Bukima in Congo. It will take 4 hours to get to Goma town where you will have lunch. After lunch, he will drive you to Bukima where you will sleep and have dinner.

DAY 2: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park-Congo
You will have breakfast early in the morning. Your guide will drive you to the Park Headquarters. You will join other people for briefing before going into the Virunga forest for your gorilla trek. This trek can be short or long depending on where the gorilla family you are trekking is. It can take from 30 minutes to 7 hours. When you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them. You will watch their behavior, take photos, and then go back to the Park Headquarters to end the trek.

DAY 3: Chimpanzee trekking/Habituation in Virunga National Park-Congo
You will have breakfast early in the morning. Your guide will drive you to the Park Headquarters. You will join other people for a briefing before going into the Virunga forest for your chimpanzee trek. This trek can be short or long depending on where the chimpanzee family you are trekking is. It can take from 3 minutes to 4 hours. When you find the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour with them. You will watch their behavior, take photos, and then go back to the Park Headquarters to end the trek. If you want to spend more time with the chimpanzees, you can choose the chimpanzee habituation experience. You will spend a whole day with the chimpanzees. DAY 4: Departure to Kigali to End the tour
You will have breakfast at your lodge and then be driven back to Kigali. On the last day of your tour, you can choose to stay in Kigali or fly out of the city. The return journey will follow the same route, including a stop at the Rwanda-Congo border. Here, you can take photos, buy souvenirs, or relax before continuing to Kigali.
