Buhoma Haven Lodge opened in December 2014 aiming to help the Buhoma Community Development Association (BCDA) and cater to clients interested in something than just a budget accommodation
Offering 3 self-contained cottages, all the self-contained on-suite and joining simple elegance with local materials.
All these bands are built with the local materials and are of African architectural making,
The lodge offers guests a 6-bed dormitory as well as several campsites.
The serves Western and African cuisine prepared by Ugandan chefs using locally grown food. the meals are prepared according to the day’s menu.

Among the four sectors of Bwindi National Park, the Buhoma region reigns supreme due to its rich history. Buhoma holds the distinction of being the first sector to open its doors to gorilla tracking, pioneering gorilla tourism in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park throughout Uganda in 1993. This momentous occasion led to the establishment of Bwindi as a national park. As a testament to its pioneering role, Buhoma is home to the oldest habituated gorilla family, Mubare, which was the first to be encountered by tourists venturing into the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking. To this day, Buhoma remains a haven for gorilla enthusiasts, boasting five habituated gorilla families: Mubare, Rushegura, Habinyanja, Katwe, and Bweza.
