Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
On Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk
Day 5: Departure to Kigali
On the first day of your trip, you’ll arrive at Kigali International Airport. Then, you’ll leave for Volcanoes National Park in Ruhegeri District. the transfer will take about 2 hours with lunch en route. On arrival at the park, check in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Dinner and Overnight: Five Volcanoes/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge/Hotel Muhabura
Wake up very early in the morning have breakfast then transfer to the Park headquarters. You’ll go for a briefing on the code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas. Then, later the rangers will divide you into groups of 8 with a park ranger. You’ll then enter the forest to track the Gorillas for 3-5 hours. Lastly, when you meet them depending on their current location, you’ll have only an hour with them. Thus, seize this opportunity to take as many photos as possible in their presence. After Gorilla Trekking, return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Dinner and Overnight: Five Volcanoes/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge/Hotel Muhabura
Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage, embark on a transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route, you’ll visit some Genocide Memorials as well as have lunch. Be keen as you will know much about this anti-human tragedy that happened in the early 1990s. The local guides will help you to learn about this tragedy. Then, later you arrive at the Park and check in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
Dinner and Overnight: One&Only /Nyungwe top Hill View/Gisakura Guest House
Wake up have breakfast then later proceed to the Park headquarters for briefing. You’ll learn the code of conduct around the Chimpanzees in their natural forest habitat. Then, enter the forest to track the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours. When you meet them, you’ll have only an hour to stay in their presence taking various photos to keep for memories. Also, remember to adhere to the rules while in the presence of these apes.
After Chimpanzee Tracking, proceed to enjoy a canopy walk that offers you views of various primates. The primates you can see here include white and black Columbus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and so on. Meanwhile, if you have an interest in birds, you’ll have the lion’s share. There are many bird species for you to spot while on the canopy walk. After the canopy walk, return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

On this day, you’ll Wake up, have breakfast then with your luggage embark on a departure to Kigali International Airport to board your flight back home.
