Golden Monkey Trekking Age Limit in Rwanda, are you planning to trek golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park, referring to visiting the rare and very beautiful golden monkeys in their natural environment, Volcanoes National Park is the only place in Rwanda where you can see golden monkeys. It has two habituated golden monkey communities for trekking every day, these communities have approximately 80 members each and the number of visitors is not limited.

The activity starts at the park headquarters at 7:00 am with a briefing on Dos and Don’ts by the park wardens and later the park guides and rangers lead you to the forest to find them, you can walk for 30 minutes to hours depending on the location and movement of the golden monkeys, once you find them you are allowed to view and stay with them for only one hour and after you return.

The minimum age for tracking golden monkeys in Rwanda is 12 years. A maximum of sixteen (16) people are permitted per Golden Monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park.

The Age limit for golden monkey trekking in Rwanda in Volcanoes National Park is 12 years. The authorities at the Park in Rwanda are very strict on this, so kindly make sure all the travelers for this trek are 12 or older. There is no Maximum age for golden Monkey trekking provided you are an adult and able to trek.

In cases of Minors, we always encourage our clients to provide us with copies of their passports, before booking and securing the gorilla permits. Children being underage does not stop you from coming along with them for your golden monkey trekking, as you engage in the trek, we can get them busy through a variety of activities such as nature walks around the hotel, Games, or community visits to keep them busy as they wait for you.

The permits for golden monkeys trekking in Rwanda cost USD100 per person per trek for Non-foreign Residents, and USD65 for foreign residents the beauty about the trek in Rwanda is that it does not limit the people who are to participate in the trek. The golden monkey tracking permits allow you to view the monkeys, take photographs, and stay in their environment for one hour once you find them in the forest.

The monkeys are easy to find since most of them live just right below the Volcanoes Mountain and can be seen swinging from the bamboo trees in the forest. The monkeys also move out in the open and feast on the cones and food in the fields owned by the farmers near the forest making it easy for the tourists to see them as they swing back and forth. with the guidance of forest guides and armed rangers on the day of the trek in the forest.

Getting to Volcano National Park
