Day 1: Arrival-Pick Up
When you get to the airport, the guide assigned to you for the whole trip will be there to help you. You’ll be driven to stay overnight in Bujumbura.
Day 2: Transfer-Rusizi National Park
Have breakfast and then take a short drive to Rusizi National Park. You’ll see hippos, sitatungas (antelope), and many birds in the wetland. After lunch, relax at your hotel.
Day 3: Waterfall Visit-Burundi National Museum
After an early breakfast, head south to see the “Chutes de la Kagera” or the impressive “Kagera Falls.” In the afternoon, travel to Gitega to explore the Burundi National Museum. Return to your hotel for dinner.
Day 4: Discovering Bujumbura on City Tour
Enjoy breakfast and visit the grave of Prince Louis Rwagasore, a Burundi independence hero. Then, climb to the “Belvedere” for a great view of Bujumbura and have lunch. Drive south to visit “La Pierre de Stanley et Livingstone,” the stone marking where Stanley met Dr. Livingstone.
Day 5: Transfer-Ruvubu National Park
After breakfast, drive to Ruvubu National Park, the largest protected area in northern Burundi. It offers excellent hiking opportunities and stunning views. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 6: Kibira Forest National Park-Lake Tanganyika
In the morning, travel to Kibira Forest National Park for a forest walk to see birds and monkeys. After lunch, return to Bujumbura and go to Lake Tanganyika. Relax at Saga Beach with entertainment by Burundi Drummers, and you can also enjoy a boat tour on the lake. Swimmers have a chance to swim in the calm lake.
Day 7: Bujumbura City Tour-Departure
After breakfast, check out of the hotel. You have time to shop for souvenirs. Finally, you’ll be dropped off at the airport for your departure, ending your fantastic experience.
