Day 1: Arrival, pickup and transfer to Kigali.

Upon your landing at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, be ready to meet up with a driver guide. Your driver will enlighten you about the safari. Then, you’ll drive to your lodge where you will check in for dinner and overnight. Alternatively depending on your arrival time, you will have a Kigali City tour. This tour will allow you to Visit the genocide memorials in Kigali, markets, and other important places.

Day 2: Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu, DRC.

Begin this day with morning breakfast and then depart from the lodge To Bukavu. You’ll be using the Butare route with a short Kigali city tour. You will visit places that you will have missed out on the previous Kigali tour. You will proceed through Nyungwe forest and arrive at Lake Kivu. You’ll then do a short boat ride where you will see different bird species. Following this, you will connect to Bukavu where you will dine and slumber at your lodge.

Day 3: Lowland Congo gorilla trekking.

After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and registration about low-land gorillas. Commence the quest after knowing your gorilla family to trek. This will take about 2- 4 hours. The activity may seem to be a bit tiring. This is so because you trek through wet areas with fairly rough terrain. Once you find them, you’ll have only an hour to take pictures and record videos as you watch their behaviors. Thus, you’ll be able to see them feeding, nursing their young, and other behaviors. Then, Return to the lodge for lunch. You’ll enjoy the rest of the evening by taking part in a waterfall walk to Tsibati. After, return to your lodge for a rest that you’ll deserve.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali and departure.

Enjoy breakfast in the morning and then check out of the lodge. Then, you’ll transfer back to Kigali with lunch along the way. You will then proceed to the airport to catch up with your flight back home.
